I visited Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen on Valentine's Day weekend. Keep in mind that parking and traffic were quite challenging, but there is a garage very close to the restaurant (this could be due to the Valentine's Day weekend rush). The restaurant itself is stunning and elegant, exactly what you'd expect from an establishment bearing Gordon Ramsay's name. We were seated shortly after checking in and escorted upstairs to our table. It was fun to see several cool references from the show, which added to the experience. Unfortunately, our service was lacking. I feel like the service here can be a hit or miss depending on your server. We noticed the table to our right received much more attention, with the server actively engaging and thoroughly explaining the menu items. Meanwhile, our server mainly just took our order and occasionally came back to check-in. As for the food, it was overall quite good. We started with scallops and wagyu meatballs, both of which were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. For our mains, we ordered two ribeyes and two beef wellingtons. The ribeye was incredibly juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection (honestly, it may have been the best steak I've ever had). The beef wellington, however, was underwhelming. While it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, it lacked the depth of flavor and the flaky crust that Gordon Ramsay's wellingtons are famous for. I was hoping to try the short rib, but it wasn't available that night. For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding and lemon blueberry cheesecake were absolutely incredible--definitely worth trying. Would I return? Maybe. A $750 bill for four people feels a bit much given the experience, but with better service and if the short rib is back on the menu, I'd consider it. Also, please note that there is a mandatory 20% service fee (16% for the service staff and 4% for staff benefits), which is worth factoring in. And no, this fee does not include a tip.

Just go. Go and get the Beef Wellington. Even if you are not a steak aficionado, you almost certainly will like it. The cheesecake dessert option was also incredible!

Hell's Kitchen was a cool experience. I've seen all of the episodes so it was awesome being in that atmosphere. The aesthetic of the restaurant is gorgeous. The signature dishes, like the famous beef Wellington and pan-seared scallops, truly shine, cooked to perfection with a balance of textures and flavors. Beef short rib was just alright. The staff was kind of all over the board. The waitress near us was way nicer than ours. The host stand also had a wild mix of people who seemed enthusiastic and hospitable and others that had a terrible attitude. This place deserves its solid 4-star rating.

Great location on the harbor, the view from the south side of the restaurant was beautiful. The execution of the food was great but did not live up to my expectations. Came to lunch for restaurant week and you really couldn't beat the price. However the menu options were limited so I decided to go for the chicken, other options were the burger and for a up charge, the steak sandwich or beef Wellington. The salad, was amazing! Great mix of citrus and savory. The main course, chicken with parsnips. The chicken was cooked perfectly, kind of lacked seasoning but what really threw me off were the parsnips were so sweet they were throwing off the savoriness (if that's a word) of the dish. I also felt that was about the cocktail, good ingredients but way too sweet. The dessert is literally the star of the menu! The actual cake wasn't too sweet but the toffee sauce finished it off nicely! As expected, the fees were high for the meal, for the $35 restaurant week menu, $19 cocktail, with service fees, tax and tip it was $83 but honestly that's just how much it is to eat in DC now.

Having an epic eating experience on my special day is my thing and Hell's Kitchen at the Wharf in DC made the shortlist. I wanted to get the whole TV show experience so I opted to get the 3 course prix fixe menu. Now, let me tell you about that Beef Wellington! It was so tender & beautifully cooked and the red wine Demi glacé that was generously dolloped had me tempted to lick the plate. And you know that I had to class it up a bit by adding Foie Gras to the dish. S/o to my server Devin for being so attentive and knowledgeable about all the dishes that my party ordered. He quickly took care of few issues that we had regarding the food and silverware without any fuse.

Is it possible for the service to be better than the food? Yes. It was here! And the food was delicious, the cocktails were extremely pleasing and the music was distractingly uplifting. An incredibly enjoyable dinner. I can't wait to go back this summer. Hopefully the garage doors will be up so that I can enjoy the beautiful view of the wharf even more.

How serendipitous for me to be In DC for work while it was restaurant week so of course I had to come try out Hell's Kitchen. The location at the revitalized Wharf area is really nice with plenty to do and see before and after dinner. Upon arrival I check in with the hostess, she confirms my reservation (highly recommended) and after a short wait I'm seated. My table is right by and facing the kitchen, great......dinner and a show. I look over the price fix menu for the three-course meal and decide to start with the pan seated scallops, followed by the beef wellington and end the night with the vanilla cheesecake. The scallops come out first and are served with a celery root puree', braised bacon lardons, pickled granny smith apples and chives. The scallops were seared nicely, and I liked the hint of smokiness added by the bacon. Next up was the beef wellington, it was nicely plated, and you could tell it was cooked a perfect medium rare. The knife cuts through it like butter and the seasoning was perfect. I have had the beef wellington twice at Chef's Ramsey's Hedon St Kitchen in London and would have to say this one was better. Lastly, the vanilla cheesecake came out. It had a delicious graham cracker crust, a lemon curd sauce that almost gave it a KeyLime pie taste and topped with a blueberry compote. It was very satisfying. Overall, from the service to the food, I had a great experience and look forward to coming back next time I'm in DC.

An Exceptional Dining Experience at Hell's Kitchen. After living on the Wharf for two years, I finally had the chance to visit Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen when a friend came to town. We started at the bar with cocktails--a dirty martini for my friend and an off-menu Vesper for me. Both were expertly crafted and set a high standard for the evening. Seated earlier than our reservation time, we had a view of the famous open kitchen. The calls of food orders echoed occasionally, but always professionally--more precision than drama. I chose the prix fixe menu, featuring the signature trio: seared scallops, beef Wellington, and sticky toffee pudding. Each dish exceeded expectations. The Wellington was incredibly tender with a sauce that elevated every bite. The scallops were perfectly seared, and the sticky toffee pudding provided a warm, sweet conclusion to the meal. The ambiance captures the essence of the TV show, from the iconic kitchen setup to subtle nods to Ramsay himself. The staff were polished, welcoming, and efficient, contributing to the seamless experience. While the experience is undeniably refined and slightly formulaic--much like a culinary Disneyland--it delivers on every promise. For a special occasion, a date night, or even a refined evening at the bar, Hell's Kitchen is well worth a visit.

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and class, while still being casual enough to allow you to relax. My server was incredibly attentive and even suggested modifications to accommodate my dad's preferences, which I truly appreciated. The food arrived promptly, and everything was absolutely delicious. This was my second visit, and the restaurant has proven to be consistently excellent. The noise level is moderate--not so loud that you can't hear your tablemates. One thing to note: there's a 20% service charge that is not a tip. It's distributed among the staff to ensure fair wages, health benefits, and more, which I think is a great policy. As for the food, the Beef Wellington was outstanding. I typically don't eat steak cooked medium rare, but I had to make an exception for Gordon Ramsay's famous dish, and I have zero regrets. The pomme purée that accompanied it was silky and flavorful. I also loved the texture of the macaroni and cheese--it uses curly, frilly pasta that adds a delightful twist to the dish. The Brussels sprouts were another highlight, sweet with just a hint of spice. For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding remains my all-time favorite. I've noticed it's also on the menu at Ramsay's Steakhouse in Baltimore, and honestly, I'd love to get my hands on the recipe to recreate it at home. Overall, this restaurant continues to exceed expectations, and I'll definitely be back!

It was my first time here, my boyfriend had brought me here for my birthday. The place was nice, and the hostesses were nice as well and accommodated us even though we were a couple minutes past our reservation due to the difficulty of finding parking. I ordered the crispy skin salmon, and my boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which was not cooked to his liking. He requested well cooked but what was brought to the table was likely a medium rare steak. I truly believe our waitress Isaiah did not inform the kitchen of how he wanted his steak done. However, I enjoyed my crispy skin salmon, I wish there was a bit more of the sticky rice to have an equivalent rice to fish ratio. Overall the salmon was good with the green curry.
